I was in Austin, TX for a short birthday weekend and Peche came highly recommended for dinner and drinks. It turned out to be a complete success story, especially compared to some of the dives we toured along the way. Starting out, the drinks were fantastic. I had the French 77 which was the perfect sweet (but not too sweet) and refreshing cocktail. I ordered the tomato salad to start; actually, the entire table did. Everyone's tomatos were were yellow and blood red, high quality stuff...except for mine. Mine could only be described as a plain red tomato from Safeway. That was pretty disappointing. The cheese plate and fried artichokes were amazing, though and made up for my abysmal salad. The french dip was also a massive hit. I've never had meat so tender and flavorful in a sandwich. I would order that again and again. We also ordered some fries for the table which were served piping hot and with homemade ketsup. To-die for. I would certainly recommend that anyone who visits the Austin area give Peche a try. You won't be disappointed!
