Looks like a grand opera house, food and service are top notch. Not a big celebrity hang out, but Bono and the Edge have been spotted on occasion.

del posto is a great restaurant. the servie/food/atmosphere/wine was outstanding. we had a group and couldnt decide what to order so we had the waiter prepare a bunch of food for us to share. he picked some items we would have never chosen (sounded a bit scary) but everything was outstanding. he paired wines with the courses as well. actually, he more or less did all the work and my clients thought it was one of the best meals they had eaten in ny and we have been to quite a few restaurants. the location is a bit off the beaten track which is nice as less of a scene in a way--morimoto's restaurant is right across the street (as is the food network studio i believe) so we went there afterwards for a night cap. great restaurant.
