the place is turning into a 'quickie' joint: a quick lunch hoping for a quickie afterward. the upside - quickie, the downside is shitty food.

I don't think the food is shitty. Only if you compare it to some nice French place. But for a pub food--it's not bad at all.

I used to go there a lot when I lived in Chicago. Outdoor sitting is great after a beach volley session. Good selection of beer. The food is OK in general, but pretty good compared to some other pubs.

They have a nice outdoor seating at D4, once it gets warm. Beer is pretty decent but the food is just mediocre.

For that specific area in streeterville - yes, because there's only D4 and Lizzie's close by. But in general, a lot of Lincoln Park/Old town pubs have muuuch better food.
