Description: Director Oliver Stone's stark satire of media and murder still generates controversy. Mickey and Mallory Knox (Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis, respectively) hit the road on an interstate killing spree that triggers a manhunt and garners amazing ratings for a tabloid TV star (Robert Downey Jr.). Shocking, bloody and relentlessly violent, Stone's visually frenetic film makes a chilling statement about the American cultural landscape.

Loosely based on a script written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Oliver Stone (Wall Street), Natural Born Killers is one part drama, comedy, and three parts frightening, satirical television show. Inspired by Bonnie and Clyde, the film focuses on the lives of a love-entangled serial killing couple who go on a senseless killing spree and are—as a consequence—worshipped by America. Shot at several angles and with varying cinematographic qualities, Natural Born Killers in its entirety bring to mind the first ten minutes of Moulin Rouge or Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange (almost to the point of nausea). I recommend watching it twice, once for effect, once for understanding.
