Description: Frank Oz directs this remake of the 1963 Brando vehicle Bedtime Story, with Steve Martin as Freddy, a small-time con man who butts heads with Lawrence (Michael Caine), a successful European swindler working the Riviera. Hoping to get rid of one another, they make a loser-leaves bet to scam the fortunes of a wealthy heiress (Glenne Headly). Watching Martin do his slapstick shtick is hilarious, and the lush French Riviera backdrop is gorgeous.

Steve Martin and Michael Caine may have seemed like a weird combination at time time of making this film. Caine is a little on the dry side, that is, when he's not being creepy and reminding you of his role in Dressed To Kill. But it works perfectly in this gut-busting tale of con artists who've met their match.
