I don't go to the movies very often. This version of "Alice" is great! It is very entertaining and the effects are wonderful. It is well acted. I loved the ending.

Great visuals and special effects. Otherwise, quite mediocre. It feels that Burton completely missed the subtle and twisted nature of Carroll's masterpiece and made it into commercial fairytale akin to Cinderella.

Pavlo, you actually read and liked the books about Alice?

Believe it or not. "Winnie the Pooh" is also on my shelf.

can't give it more than 2. This is not a film, but a new genre of entertaining via stunning visual effects and CG. Just happens to be served on the big screen near you. Well, not so "stunning" anymore actually if one were to compare this to Avatar. Rest is irrelevant - script (dumb), acting (what acting?). I am surpirsed just how quickly the new Holywood 3D gimmick is petering out. Just my second movie I've watched in 3D and already found the whole concept lacking in raw intensity.

The movie definitely had interesting set and Johnny Depp proved once again that he is a great actor however I think there was too much hype for this movie and it didn't deliver much. Then again the animation and the effects brought life to this movie. I give it 4 stars.

Tim Burton does a wonderful job at remaking Alice in Wonderland. The animation effects combined with Johnny Depp and Helena Boham Carter's acting makes the movie so amazing. The story line is great! It's definitely a movie your going to want to see twice!

As long as you go into this movie as an educated movie-goer, not expecting to see a remake of the Classic Disney depiction of Alice in Wonderland, you should enjoy the quirkiness that Tim Burton brings to this movie. All of the favorites from the original Alice in Wonderland make appearances, but may not be as lighthearted as you remember.

Tim Burton’s stunning rendition of Alice in wonderland seems to be on everyone’s mind at late, and the massive range differing reviews are more than obvious. Despite my love of all things Burton, I find that the film had too much hype to live up to. Yes, the effects were fabulous and disconcerting; did they take over the entire story? Yes, a little at times (and that was without 3D effects), but the plot was still the same fun mix of Carroll stories that frightened and entertained us since childhood. There are some hilarious and other very touching moments throughout the film, and while it might not live up to the staggering expectations of the masses, the moral of the story is a good one.

I'm being generous when I give this movie one star because, aside from it being beautiful in a visual way (as are all Burton films), it didn't do anything for the original story and I can't say there was any performance that stood out as stupendous. Not even Johnny Depp could have saved this movie for as terrific an actor as he is.

Definitely a visual stunner but I was very disappointed with the story. In a nut shell, it was like Alice gets to underland and discovers she may have a destiny. So she runs one direction and talks to people. Then she runs the other way and talks to more people. Then she runs back. Then she returns. Then we hear a little more about her destiny... Then she decides to take up her destiny and there's more running around and some fighting. Look, I understand doing this poses a unique challenge to all involved but... I don't know. I feel like Burton has been straying from the path. His earlier film were magic. Now it feels as though he tells his crew "make it pretty! make it weird!" (like Warhol and his "bright colors" towards the end) out for the money.
