B44

Julia Gleason: My gay bestie and I headed out for dinner after a haircut at Joseph Cozza. B44 was on my list of to-tries for over a year so I forced it upon him since it was in the general vicinity. I've been slightly deterred due to the almost tourist-like soliciting the restaurants partake in on Belden Place. I've surmised that due to the fact that there are so many restaurants crammed in that tiny alley, they've taken up North Beach tactics. I just ignored it and while I was busy ignoring things, I walked by Plouf (which is way overrated) and every other joint flagging us down to settle in and eat, drink and be merry at B44. The pork prime rib was delicious and that potato gratin and cabbage side dish was like, crazy delicious. The Lorca cocktail was a sugary delight; they throw pomegranate seeds in at the bottom so you're enticed to drink quicker; I managed to oblige. Prices were reasonable and it was lovely sitting outside in the dead of winter (heaters coupled with a rogue good weathered evening was the perfect combo). It's a winner!
