Tracy Engelien: I don't care how dirty or gross some of the patrons are or anything. Cancun is my absolute favorite taqueria in the SF Mission. Tacos, tacos, tacos. Eat some there and take some to go.
Christian Carlo Maala: All American Latin Food is the best during those late night hunger calls. Taco bell has the best mediocre Quessedillas and of course cinnamon twists. I think that taco bell has been an american favorite pit stop. Especially the fact that they are open very late at night and that they make the food right when you order it. The restaurant being an assembly line, makes the food quick. PERFECT!
Julia Gleason: Another solid burrito joint. After a couple hours of World Cup finals watching, we trekked up the hill to use a coupon we had for El Castillito, buy two burritos get the third one free. Score! I got the super burrito with chicken. All the ingredients tasted really fresh and the chicken (which can often taste bland) was uber flavorful. They also have whole wheat tortillas which is fantastic because it tastes and feels a lot healthier than just a doughy flour one. The only downer of the experience was that my super burrito included cheese and they conveniently left that out...that's the best part!
Julia Gleason: Regalito is a health nut's version of Mexican food. The food is fresh, light, and lean. Those things are definitely all point worthy in my book. However, fresh, light, and lean shouldn't also be attached with bland...and my enchiladas were. They were also on the dry side which unfortunately, has left me not looking forward to my leftovers. For $14, this meal should be better; it seems as though Regalito hasn't quite struck a balance between healthy and delicious yet.
Julia Gleason: Since my departure from the Marina I've been a little out of the loop on new restaurants popping up in the area. I have to rely on my friends who still live there. I was invited to Tacolicious on Friday and was excited at the prospect of trying a new Mexican joint. It's a relatively new restaurant next to the always popular, Pacific Catch. At first assessment, it reminded me of Mamacitas which is just down the street on Chesnut. It was a great place to watch the Giants game but only because we were lucky enough to get a seat; it get's very crowded at the bar. The tacos were pretty good but after having had authentic tacos in Mexico earlier this year, they didn't cut it. Add in to the mix the fact that I ordered ONE margarita for $10, it more than likely won't be an establishment that I frequent.
