Marina & Kebab

Christian Carlo Maala: This place have very generous servings with generous flavors. I really like the friendly staff. It's a great place to have a lunch business meeting or hang out with friends of the past. The food is affordable and it's at one f the prime locations in San Francisco, the Marina District, hence the name of the Kebab botique

NOPA

Briana Hernandez: If you never thought you would willingly fork over $20 for a burger, prepare to be turned around on your heels with napkin in collar. Aside from their interesting, ever-changing menu, their Grass-Fed Burger with House Fries is their main attraction and is always available for order.

Ali Baba's Cave

Julia Gleason: I have been missing out on something serious life has to offer. It's called the lamb shwarma, my friends and Ali Baba's Cave is the place to get it. The shwarma is like a Mediterranean sandwich. They wrap it in this amazing pita/tortilla-like bread and stuff it to the brim with tender lamb chunks, cucumber yogurt dip, hummus, parsley and potatoes. The portion was huge but it tasted so divine I almost ate the entire thing! It's super fun to walk in and see the meat slow roasting on a spit; you just know you're in for an amazing treat when you see that.

Truly Mediterranean

Julia Gleason: I'm new to the whole Mediterranean shawarma thing. My first experience was at Ali Baba's Cave and I was hooked instantly. Since yesterday was the hottest day in SF all year, we decided to take advantage and have a leisurely dinner in Dolores Park. We stopped by Truly Mediterranean on the way over to pick up some grub. I was told that the chicken (only offered on Tues and Thurs) was awesome. As much as the meat itself was pretty damn good, I was left feeling a tad disappointed. The schawarma that I had at Ali Baba's was so much better (and might I add, cheaper!); they put hummus and potatoes with heaping piles of meat and other goodies. Truly Mediterranean just put the meat, parsley, some yogurt sauce and way too many onions. Don't get me wrong, I ate almost all of it anyway but the next time I have a craving for Mediterranean, I more than likely won't come back here.

Sausalito Espresso

Julia Gleason: It was a beautiful day in San Francisco yesterday. I had just finished up physical therapy and worked up quite an appetite. As I walked over to Embarcadero 4 to meet my friend for lunch, I had no idea what I wanted to order. The last few weeks had been a steady regimen of salads; I was ready for a change. I walked through what felt like a gazillion restaurant choices and finally landed on this tiny Greek joint offering delicious chicken shawarmas. The woman behind the register was super friendly and she asked me, "spice or no spice?" NO SPICE, I said. I took my tasty wrap and sat outside in the sun, diving in head first. The chicken was awesome (and apparently organic). I enjoyed it immensely until I hit some pockets of spicy sauce. It would have been a five star review if it hadn't been for that. I'm super sensitive to spice so when I say that I don't want any, I really mean I don't want ANY.
