Christian Carlo Maala: Akew Grill is a healthful palace of grilled meats, fresh drinks, and many other variety of fresh foods. When people think of franchise, people d not think of Askew, which is a good thing. I think that Askew definitely has the potential to be a great national chain, if it keeps the well rounded staff and chefs to live up to the askew name.
Julia Gleason: Memphis Minnie's is not for the faint of heart, from start to finish your physical being is tested. I had been wanting to try it for quite some time so when we found ourselves in the neighborhood last Saturday night, the long line and ample wait time didn't deter me. The good thing about waiting in line is that it gives you plenty of time to decide on a meal. Spencer and I joined forces and decided to get the fried chicken plate (a special of the night) and brisket. You get two sides with each meal so we tried as many as we could: coleslaw, baked beans, mac and cheese and potato salad. On top of that, we each got a corn bread muffin. We literally had a massive feast staring us in the face. As we dived in, we became more and more smitten..and more and more stuffed to the brim. Everything was just so darn tasty! My favorite part of the meal was the coleslaw and cornbread. On top of the perfect meal we indulged in, another wonderful aspect of Memphis Minnie's is the staff. They are all so friendly and go out of their way to make you feel taken care of. The owner walks around to everyone's table and chats with you, cracks some jokes and makes sure everything is a-okay. It was really a lovely experience all around. Oh yah, we also ordered the banana pudding...two words: mouth orgasm.
