Janie Liu: I love French food. This is a great french food restaurant! You have to try the more traditional dishes =)
Christian Carlo Maala: The place brings back the traditional American Diner experience. Early in the day or late at night, there is something to calm down the taste buds of your hungry pallet. The staff is as friendly as the flavors of the menu and. The prices are real for the serving you want at the time being. The only thing you need to be careful of is, you will be a long term regular.
Brickhouse Cafe & Bar
- 426 Brannan St, San Francisco, CA, 94107
Julia Gleason: After a very generous offer from the GM of Brickhouse, the BF and I decided to give things another go. The food experience this time around was considerably better. Starting off with onion rings was the perfect way to initiate dining. We warmed up our tums with their crispy deliciousness. We ordered the beef pot pie and pesto pasta with chicken as our entree. Spencer really liked his pot pie and although I wasn't completely sold on the pasta, it was a much better choice than the veggie burger I had last time. Brickhouse is a great place to go for happy hour with $3 draft beers and $2 off bar bites. I'm not certain I would recommend a full meal here only because there's nothing that I've tasted that would leave me dying to come back. The prices are pretty darn high too and although their portions are hefty, the quality doesn't quite warrant that. I will say that a good friend of mine has had the veggie sandwich here and she emphatically claims that it's amazing. That may be a good place to start if it's your first time eating here. I was really close to ordering it but at the last minute changed my mind (kinda wish I had gone with my gut instinct).
Julia Gleason: After a hard workout of spin that resulted in raging hunger pangs, a couple of us wandered in to Metro Caffe for a big burger and fries. I was told to order the tater tots as a side but instead ordered the french fries which was a huge mistake. Don't get me wrong, the fries were great but the tots blew them out of their deep fryer oil! My friend ordered them and I couldn't help but snatching a few (or 10) off her plate; they were golden brown and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The turkey burger didn't disappoint either. It was the perfect size for my normally small appetite. Normally when I order a burger it's a battle of epic proportions to keep it all together; ketchup is dripping on to my fingers and arms, the burger is flailing about in the bun, and/or all the accouterments work there way out on to the table. Not last night. Last night my burger stayed neatly where it should be, only having to use my napkin for the corners of my mouth. The customer service definitely lacked something to be desired, though. When the cashier asked me if I wanted everything on it, I naturally asked what that entailed. He gave me an annoyed look and pointed to a sign on the register listing it out. Okay, I get that it was right there but I missed it, so what? No need for the 'tude, Dude.
Mengfei He: Great location if you're walking around pier 39. I think it's the only classy restaurant within that block. Food was ok, not great but 3 hours of free parking rocks.
