Tracy Engelien: hmm...The Must. ? Really? Must I? No, but it IS a decent spot for happy hour after work downtown and there is certainly a loyal local crowd. I appreciate their specialty beer selection, even though I've struck out twice on trying new ones. The Vinegar Beer is certainly a mistake. I think the vibe is the best thing about this place, which is pretty relaxed but everyone seems to have a great time when there.
Tracy Engelien: After several applications of City Sip, I have made this a favorite destination spot for a quick social chat with a neighborhood-vibe kinda joint. The quick social chat has always turned into three glasses of wine and a cheese plate after the good spirit of City Sip gets into your blood. They serve beer too (some on tap!) so your anti-vino pals can have a good time as well. What is also very appealing to the L.A. "I-am-obsessed-with-my-four-legged-friend" set is they have a "Yappy Hour" where, for a nominal price, your pet can be watched for a couple hours next door at K9 Loft while you enjoy your wine and snacks. I've even seen kids in City Sip, so it almost takes on a pub-like policy where everyone is welcome. Why is it not five stars? They have one person on the staff who lacks the friendly gene and they are always working when I am there. Otherwise, I love the place.
Tracy Engelien: This is a LOVELY spot for an after work bit of wine and nibblies with some good friends. The happy hour is really good and the service is great. Really, the staff is lots of fun and still knowledgeable. When the weather is gorgeous (and let's admit, that is almost every day) I recommend sitting outside at the concrete bar to watch the people go by on their way to L.A. Live. Quite riveting. And they always have games on the tv's indoors for the real sports fans.
