Magic Castle

Sarah M.: If you can score tickets - which you cannot buy - only be gifted by a member or someone 'in the know,' then try this place - ONCE. It's worth it, if only to say you got to go to the magic castle. Dinner is marginal, and a guy comes and takes your picture and strongly guilts you into buying it. But youre not here for dinner - youre here for MAGIC!! Which is pretty cool. They have a bunch of different rooms with various acts going on. They have roaming card trick magicians that will perform tricks on the fly. The ambiance is trippy - you feel like your in a haunted house. It's definitely cheesy - but if you go in knowing that, you're in for a fun evening.

Grand Performances

anna andreyeva: If you ever feel like feeling like a city-dweller in Los Angeles, check out one of the summer performances atop of the Angel's Flight. Its a great opportunity to listen to some eclectic music, enjoy a warm LA evening among the few downtown skyscrapers, drink some wine and dance :)

24th Street Theatre

anna andreyeva: I can't say there is anything original about this theater...another very small theater in the downtown area...Seating for no more than 200 people, a little run down, nothing particularly special...I saw a Spanish-language play, "Razon Blindada", and I think that its part of their community reach out efforts (to have Spanish-language plays to attract predominantly Latino members of the local community)...Would definitely visit another time...Oh :) They have special foods served before the plays, I can't say I like tamales, but they were pretty good...And nice, family friendly atmospehere
