The Far Bar

Tracy Engelien: I really like Far Bar. Great dive, GREAT happy hour special on Sapporo draft, and yummy snacks from the kitchen of Chop Suey. They have a guy on guitar singing in the alley courtyard seating area and they play movies outside once dark. Nice little spot in Little Tokyo.

Three Clubs

Tracy Engelien: Classic bar with the BEST BARTENDER EVER! (thanks Jennifer! we love you!!!) another hit for real drinkers, Mark (owner) has kept the original flavor of the joint but brought it into the right decade. TIPS: Watch out for plenty of rambunctious locals trying to get in the door; play music from the jukebox; buy the bartender a drink; stay for the live music; don't eat at the thai place across the way. (sorry thai place.)

Bar Delux

Natalia Klimovich: I've never actually been there...:)

Boulevard3

Nathaniel Osollo: Ah, the place where my celebration of birth from last year (right?) was held. Expensive? Yes. Classy? Yes. Good dancing? Yes. Good music? Yes. Go-go dancers? You bet. A whole wall of 'em. They even had some chocolate to dip with strawberries or berries of various nature nonetheless. Don't bother getting on the guest list. Turns out they just wanted the cash.

The Edison

Justine Middleton: The architecture here is something amazing. But once you get over that, I hope you brought your wallet. How fun this place is really depends on the event the night is centered around. Lucen Dossier is always a blast and attracts all kinds. I've seen a dude bust out on an upstanding bass and steal the show. Then again, any other time you come here and it's just a bunch of suits smoking cigars on the patio hoping to get laid. The drinks are good--but just way too expensive. LIke, not cool expensive, at all. Whether you just got paid or not. They serve absynthe, which I'm not sure I can spell, but that's mostly a gimmick. I don't think the alcohol or whatever content is anything close to what absynthe needs to be, but they sure as schlitz charge enough for it. Worth checking out what all the fuss is about if the entertainment is right. Otherwise, save your money. And I suggest you either eat before you get there, or take out another mortgage.
