Brasserie Jo

Natalia Klimovich: A wonderful authentic French brasserie in Chicago. Try anything from steamed mussels, to coq au vin or beef tongue. Notable wine list. Also very good for people watching.

Crêpe Bistro

Alla Kushner: If you work in the West loop, this is a good lunch spot. Crepes are not the best I've eaten, but they're pretty good. Staff and owners are very friendly and service is great. (For those who like to be entertained while they eat - they have an accordionist that shows up to play on Fridays).

The Purple Pig

Dmitri Demin: Cosy and interesting. The place gets PACKED and doesn't take reservations, so need to get there early.

Le Bouchon
Bonjour Cafe Bakery

Natalia Klimovich: Cozy French bakery on a nice plaza in Hyde Park. For those who live in downtown Chicago--this is an enjoyable 40 min bike ride along the lake. Their croissants and pastries are superb, always fresh and never too sweet--just like in Paris. Also try their mint tea.
