Natalia Klimovich: Balsan is a neighborhood restaurant if your neighborhood happened to be tucked onto a lively cobblestone Parisian street in 1920. Seasonal ingredients from 65 local farms drive the ever-changing menu and “hand-crafted” is actually a process, not a buzzword. The fresh burrata made in house was heavenly. I couldn't stop eating the soft, creamy goodness. Everything we ordered from the "cheese and charcuterie" menu was exceptionally good. Grilled octopus salad was a pleasant surprise as well, highly recommend. Their wine list is good, but somewhat limited, but you can always ask to bring a much more extensive list from the next door's Ria. All in all--a wonderful, casual yet sophisticated bistro, located in the amazing new hotel in Gold Coast.
