super fancy health club. numerous classes for aerobics, yoga, pilates, dancing and even ballet. Tennis courts are in impeccable condition. Crowds of young cool dudes with fat bank accounts and gals freshly sculptured by plastic surgeons. A very good restaurant plus bar and diner upstairs. if you work in the loop and don't go to the club after work you must be boarding train to the suburbs. I am a member there as long as I don't have to pay for court time.

east bank club is fantastic and this place was definitely designed before the current trend in health clubs to incorporate that weird, utilitarian and sleek wood/metal look--thinking sport club or equinox. It was undoubtedly the height of 80's interior design when it opened 30 odd years ago. Loved, loved the indoor tennis courts, the adorable driving range and the massive cardio room, which, viewed from the second floor restaurant, reminds me of that scene in the Matrix where the heroes come upon the fields of human pods. this place is incredibly well maintained and if I lived in Chicago, I would absolutely be a member. I only wish such a health club existed in LA.
